Walk The Talk America (WTTA) Now Offering Bilingual Mental Health Awareness Flyer in Bersa Firearm Boxes

Bersa, an Argentinean-founded firearms manufacturer, has translated WTTA’s original Mental Health Awareness Flyer into Spanish, allowing the non-profit org to expand its message to the Latino community.

Las Vegas, Nev. (July 2022) Walk The Talk America (WTTA), a non-profit organization designed to bridge the gap between the firearms industry and owners and the mental health industry, is pleased to announce its Mental Health Awareness Flyer has been translated to Spanish, thanks to Bersa, an Argentinean founded manufacturer of quality firearms. WTTA’s Mental Health Awareness flyer will now be double-sided; the front side will be in English while the back side will be in Spanish. These flyers are provided to gun manufacturers or firearm store owners to distribute with each sale helping to inform gun owners of available mental health resources. Bersa, which now operates out of Kennesaw, Georgia with manufacturing both in the U.S. and Argentina, will be including the bilingual flyers in all their firearm boxes.

“We are happy to be able to provide this resource for our customers. As someone who was there at the beginning of WTTA, I’m glad that Bersa can continue to contribute and help be part of its evolution,” commented Rafael Del Valle, Director of U.S. Sales and Marketing for Bersa.

According to an article published on Forbes.com in May of 2021, 13 percent of the U.S. population speaks Spanish at home. This figure makes it the most common non-English language spoken within the United States. The U.S. also has the second largest population of Spanish speakers in the world, only behind Mexico. If the data continues to trend this way, then by 2050, one in three U.S. citizens will speak Spanish (including bilingual people who also speak English). This data proves that this population within the American market must also be represented in a company’s marketing efforts, and that is what WTTA has aimed to do.

“One of our main goals is to educate and inform people that it is okay to talk about mental health, no matter who they are or what language they speak,” Michael Sodini, WTTA founder, said. “Conversations can and should happen around firearm ownership, and those conversations shouldn’t be blocked due to language barriers. We hope that by providing this bilingual flyer we will be able to reach more people within the Latino community.”

WTTA, the brainchild of Sodini, a firearms industry veteran, spearheaded a movement within the firearms industry to bridge the gap between mental health and responsible firearm ownership to reduce suicide by firearm and gun violence. Through educational programs, podcasts, and training programs, WTTA is paving the way for educating mental health professionals about gun culture and breaking down the negative stigmas around mental health for gun owners. Through their various programs and offerings, such as instructional flyers and slides for firearms instructors, classes in Cultural Competence, and the Introductory Courses in The Intersection of Guns and Mental Health, WTTA is leading the conversation and opening doors throughout the firearms industry and mental health industry.
