“This is a rifle that I wanted to build for me,” Maslak explains, “I wanted to build a magnum AR for a long time, but I didn’t like the options that were available. The standard AR10 magazine length and durability were a problem. Anyone who attempted to put together a 300 WSM, for example, knows that the magazine is already too short for the longer bullets, and it would bulge when loaded.”

“I wanted to use the 6.5 PRC or 300 WSM ammo, but since I reload my own bullets, they wouldn’t fit in a standard AR10 magazine. With this design, since I use the AICS mags, they fit perfectly. That, along with the magnum chambering and the AR platform, is exactly what I wanted for my own personal AR build.”
