Should You Buy a $6,000 2011? Jacob Grey NOX-9 Review

Jacob Grey’s NOX-9 is a five inch, steel frame, double stack 1911 in 9mm with ports, a compensator, an RMR plate behind the ejection port, a very light single action trigger, and all tool steel internals with no MIM. Jacob Grey is an AS9100 certified aerospace manufacturer that machines slide and frame to tight tolerances and even compensates for coating thickness for repeatable fit. The production pistol uses a one piece comp; this sample is an early unit. On the range it feels flat, fast, and extremely well made, with a slick slide, comfortable grip, easy reloads from the integrated magwell, and a trigger that invites speed. This video is about how it feels to shoot, perceived recoil and return, ejection behavior on the line, control feel, reloads with the integrated magwell, and overall build quality. I talk about the price and where it sits among other high end double stack 1911 style pistols, and maybe why MSRP is $5,800.
