Should Hunters Be Banned From The Gun Range?
A clip from The Fat Electrician sparked a surprisingly real debate:
Do hunters even belong at gun ranges?
In this video, I break down why that take isn’t as crazy as it sounds — and why banning hunters would still be completely wrong.
If you’ve ever been at a public range, you’ve seen it:
One guy firing once every 15 minutes with a bolt-action and a spotting scope
Another guy burning through magazines like it’s cardio
Both think the other is doing it wrong.
But here’s the truth: they’re playing different games.
Hunters train for one shot that can’t be missed.
Tactical and defensive shooters train for speed, reps, and consistency under pressure.
Same range. Same guns. Totally different philosophies.
In this video we talk about:
Why hunters shoot slow (and why they have to)
Why long-range precision and run-and-gun shooting aren’t comparable
How perspective changes once you’ve hunted, competed, and trained
Why this isn’t really a gun argument — it’s a mindset argument
No — hunters shouldn’t be banned from gun ranges.
But once you understand why everyone shoots the way they do, the frustration makes a lot more sense.

What kind of shooter are you — hunter, tactician, competitor, or all of the above?
