Congress just pulled a fast one — and they want you to thank them for it. The Hearing Protection Act was supposed to remove suppressors from the NFA entirely. No $200 tax. No registry. No 9-month wait. Just walk in, buy a suppressor, and walk out.

But now? The House Ways and Means Committee watered it down. The $200 tax? Gone. But the registry? Still there. The red tape? Still there. And worst of all — they’re acting like this is a win.
